Message from the ChairMAN

At our recent AGM I had an opportunity to update the company on the current status of the theatre’s proposed Renovation Project.

The design plans have been finalised and, if you’ve been into the theatre recently, you will have had an opportunity to look at images of the plans on display in the Bar.

Two areas of the renovation, the two-storey extension at the rear of the building and the new auditorium control box will require planning permission.

Our architects, Deacon Richardson, are currently preparing a planning application to go to Brighton and Hove City Council Planning Department.  Once we know the outcome of the planning application, we will be holding a members Q&A evening which will give you an opportunity talk about the plans in detail.

We will, of course, also hold an EGM (Extraordinary General Meeting) to obtain the membership’s formal go ahead once planning consent has been obtained.

The purpose of this special edition of Little Voice is to seek out all those eager volunteers with fundraising knowledge and experience.  Whilst the renovation works cannot happen without things like planning permission, we also need to raise a large sum of money to fund the proposed changes.  This is where your input will be invaluable. So please, read on and do contact us if you would like to be involved in this crucial part of the work.

If you are interested in fundraising, or have any other questions, remember you can email us on redevelopment@brightonlittletheatre.com!
