About the Show

Stones in His Pockets is an award-winning tragicomedy which tells the story of the effect on a small Irish rural community when a big Hollywood film company moves into the area to make a blockbuster film and many of the locals are drafted in to work as extras.

The play focuses on the clash of cultures between the more innocent rural Irish and the glitzy insincerity of the Hollywood goldfish bowl. It is this clash which causes the humour, and, alas, the tragedy when one of the locals commits suicide because of his treatment by the film company.
